Rub depressions and knots in solid timber with sandpaper, remove the sanding dust followed by wetting it and then steam them out using a wet towel and iron.

Careful, do not put the iron in direct contact with the timber.

Glass surfaces: nothing simpler as that

Glass surfaces can, same as ceramic hot-plates, be kept clean with little effort. Grease stains are easily cleaned with a little lemon juice and a soft cloth.

With heavy, old stains, spray the spots with a glass-cleaner and allow it to set in, do not use scouring cleaning agents. Thereafter, remove the cleaning residue with water and then dry the still wet glass plate with a dry towel or paper.

Important: Glass and mirror surfaces can, over time, become dull and blind if certain spray cleaners are used. They will lose their ability to reflect, so do not use aggressive cleaners.
